Identifying Religion in Art
This unit is a study of religion in art. Religion has long been a staple in the concept, emphasis and background of artworks dating back to the beginning. While religious art is seen and recognized widely from the Reniassance era, religious art is also woven through the creative spirit of works since and before. This unit allows students to delve deeper into what religions are and how this topic guides artwork throughout time.
The three projects discussed are (1) religious art history, (2) picturing religious art, and (3) religious self expression.
